The systems software research group has a 30 year record of research into the design of system software, with over 41 Ph.D. and 148 M.S. alumni. We are proud of our alumni. many of which have become professors and leaders of research in industry all over the world.

Roy Campbell leads the System Software Research Group. He is the Sohaib and Sara Abbasi Professor of Computer Science and also the Director of the NSA Designated Center of Excellence at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: see the CIAE Center of Information Assurance in Education ciae.cs.uiuc.edu.
