| Abstract | In this paper, we present an overview of our researchproject with Gaia, a development infrastructure for ubiquitousapplications. This infrastructure is based on threemain elements: a component-based middleware operatingsystem that provides a generic computational environmentfor ubiquitous computing, an application model that definesa standard mechanism to build ubiquitous applications, anda scripting language that we use to assemble componentbasedapplications and to coordinate activities in ubiquitouscomputing scenarios. |
